Glass Houses

The Glass House Mountains as the weather closes in.

Named by James Cook in reference to their shape being similar to glass furnaces in England. They are volcanic plugs and of cultural and spiritual significance to the traditional owners the Jinibara and the Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi).
